The Signature Mk IIa's line stage employs a direct-coupled topology without coupling capacitors, preserving signal integrity and revealing fine detail throughout the audio spectrum. Operating without global feedback ensures output stability and eliminates dynamic loading interactions. Six standard line inputs accommodate most source components, with an optional six-tube phono stage delivering low-noise amplification for moving coil cartridges while offering adjustable gain and resistive loading. Isolated heater circuits via electrostatic decoupling prevent cross-talk that typically compromises resolution. A dedicated power transformer shields the sensitive phono signal from line stage interference. The Special Edition designation denotes premium input transformers sourced from VAC's Statement and Master components, elevating performance across the signal path. Illuminated VAC badging—blue during operation, red when muted—adorns the precision-machined 3/8" faceplate.
