Ortofon took up J.S. Bach's Contrapunctus theme as they celebrated the new millennium. Through their cartridges, Kontrapunkt b, Kontrapunkt a, Kontrapunkt c, and Kontrapunkt h, they showed how the analog source still has validity. The Kontrapunkt has an aluminum cantilever and 6-Nines pure silver coils, outputting 450 µ Volt at 5 cm/sec. 1 kHz. It provides a relaxed, homogeneous sound and moderate dynamics. Depending on the equipment, it works best with resistive loads of 100 Ohms or higher.
