It involved tuning every part of the system to complement the new SABRE32 DAC chips, including revising the clocking system and enhancing the external dual-toroidal power supply.

Launched in 2014 at CES, the Lumin S1 adds the capability to play Double DSD (DSD128, 5.8mhz). The Lumin S1 uses 4 ESS SABRE32 Reference DAC chips for a total of 16 DAC’s per channel, running in parallel.
The “S” standing for Statement, the Lumin S1 represents the best network music player, while maintaining that same great original musicality found in the original A1.
The power supply for the S1 is also improved over the original A1.
