VAC Statement 450 iQ Power Amplifier is ushering in a new era of perfection.
The VAC Statement 450 iQ monoblock power amplifier is the first amplifier featuring VAC's new patented iQ Intelligent Continuous Automatic Bias System. This new technology builds on the successful Statement Series and brings the 450 iQ power amplifier to an entirely new level of excellence. VAC is well known for it's continual work in the innovation of vacuum tube technology and its goal to replicate true sound.
VACs new iQ system stems from 18 years of tireless research and development by engineers. For the first time in history, each tube in the VAC Statement 450 iQ's output stage can be held exactly at the optimal bias point at all times. This happens regardless of the volume or dynamics of the music.
The result, says VAC, "the result is sound that is always the best it can be, reduced distortion and noise, longer tube life, elimination of gas current 'run away' tubes, and increased reliability, all without any effort by the user."
The system is so intelligent that it will alert you when the 450 iQs tube is weakening or has failed altogether. Frequency response of the VAC Statement 450 iQ power amplifier ranges from 4 Hz to 75 Hz and can power nearly every loudspeaker on the planet with over 450 watts.
Not only is the Statement 450 iQ a striking piece of audio equipment, but you ger both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs with high-quality speaker wire binding posts and overall construction to last years of pleasurable listening.
The Statement 450 iQ power amp is also equipped newly improved output transformers, 56 pounds per monoblock! to be specific, with smoother, more lengthy frequency response. Input signal handling has been changed to a more pure, direct connection. Various changes to the power supply and chassis materials compliment and support the iQ system and circuit refinements.
Within the Statement Line, the audio chassis has been designed to prevent unwanted interference among the circuits. The unit is hand wired carefully and interconnecting wires are spaced machined nonmetallic guides. The hand-wired vacuum tube audio circuit assemblies are bonded to giant brass loading plates, which in turn are isolation mounted to the main chassis for an effective filter at audio frequencies.
The avoidance of negative feedback and inclusion of input and output transformers confers the relatively unique trait of eliminating unwanted stray interactions between the source components and power amplifier, such as long chain interactions between their feedback loops which tend to coarsen the sound and flatten the soundstage. A massive separate power supply is a dual mono design with substantial energy storage and high inherent regulation.
