Pass Labs' Fet amps are powerful with top-quality components, linear topologies, and excellent sound/reliability. X/XA amps' 20+ years of innovation keep them leading the way. INT-25 offers a lower-cost option: fewer parts and single-ended circuitry, eliminating degenerated negative feedback.

 

Fewer gain stages and lower voltages improve speed and stability. A single pair of industrial devices, 700 watt / 40 amp each, replaces banks of small transistors. Current hogging is gone, and a constant-current bias circuit compensates for temperature drift. Direct loudspeaker connection sans ballast resistors reduces distortion and increases the damping factor. No degeneration boosts efficiency and Class A current for enhanced performance with low impedance/reactive loads.

 

The 2 pairs of NOS Fets in CFA mode are the simple preamp's basis. Like the INT-60/250, its design is single-ended & has three line-level inputs, not outputs. Music's mark throughout the signal chain is unwavering. XA25's amplifier section is direct-coupled, with no need for DC servos or frequency compensation, to retain a genuine sound.

 

As with all Pass amplifiers, the technology, and construction are strictly in service of the listening experience. The INT-25 measures superbly, but its subjective qualities are most special. In an industry where products with great specs are often found to be dry and boring, this amplifier breathes new life into the music.
